Our Staff

We Employ Caring and Dedicated Staff

Our staff are selected not only on the basis of their qualifications, professionalism and experience, but also for their enthusiasm, dedication and genuine love of children. All our staff are thoroughly vetted which includes the necessary Ofsted and Police checks, Department of Health Clearance and an Occupational Health Check.

Toybox maintains a consistently high ratio of staff to children, with an average of one member of staff to every four children, and one to three in the baby unit. This ensures that your child receives individual care and attention

Toybox Day Nurseries recognise that its staff are its most valuable resource in the provision of high quality childcare.

Toybox is, therefore committed to a policy of staff development and the continuous improvement of the quality of service offered to our customers. All our staff receive a comprehensive induction to the company – it’s philosophy, practices and procedures. We provide in-house training at NVQ levels 2 and 3 in childcare and education. All our staff hold Basic Food Hygine, First Air and Child Protection Certificates.

We have a well resourced library, where trained staff follow the Early Learning Goals as the children learn more about the world around them.

As children move into the Pre-School room (aged 3+) they will be introduced to the basics of reading, writing and number skills in line with th Early Years National Curriculum. Focus is put on children learning their primary life skills, which they learn through play. Whilst there is more emphasis on slightly more formal learning, there is never any pressure put on children to achieve specific tasks or activities at any specific age milestone. All children learn at their own pace and all children are individual and treated as such. We are registered with the DfES and receive the government funding for 3 and 4 year olds. The funding becomes available in the school term following their 3rd or 4th birthday. As we are a private day nursery, this funding is paid directly back to the parent at the end of the qualifying term.
