History
Toybox was founded by Jackie in 1998 as a result of her not finding the childcare she required to manage her family needs. She had set about building from scratch a nursery in
In 2001 plans were drawn up for the next Toybox Day Nursery in Biggleswade. This facility was completed in autumn 2002. Biggleswade being a much bigger town than
It was as a result of her family growing up that in autumn 2004 the 'Loft' was opened in Biggleswade. It was clear that the children locally didn't have any before and after school childcare and were not catered for in the school holidays from 8am - 6pm. To meet the increasing need for out of school child care the upstairs of Toybox was converted into a spacious special place for 5-12 year olds. The loft has been hugely successful. As a result of demand, The Loft now owns a minibus to collect and deliver children to and from school, in term time. The bus then doubles up in the holidays to allow visits to local attractions for the children to enjoy.
In the summer of 2008 Toybox achieved its long term ambition of a third nursery, in a cluster on the A1 corridor, with the purchase of The Grange in Stotfold. This beautiful old farmhouse has been carefully converted into a modern, bright and airy facility. It is equipped to provide the very best environment for the children of Stotfold to enjoy.
Toybox Day Nursery and The Loft remain at the heart of the local community meeting the changing demands of parents and schools alike. Our businesses move with the times and will evolve to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
