Starting School

This transition from home (or a day nursery Pre-School setting) to a formal 'school setting' can potentially be an apprehensive time for children and parents alike.  We do appreciate and understand this. Your child's happiness and progress is very important.  Parents are assured that a phone call to check on their child's progress and well-being is welcome during the school day.

Reporting to Parents

  • We operate an open door policy
  • We value good communication between home and school
  • We invite you to join us for special occasions such as trips or special assemblies
  • We issue termly newsletters
  • We hold parent/teacher consultations near the end of the autumn and spring terms when you are invited to view your child's work (an ideal opportunity for you to discuss the progress of your child)
  • We send home a detailed written school report at the end of each summer term

Your Child's Safety

  • Please ensure you inform us if someone unfamiliar to us is coming to collect your child.  (We will only allow them to do so if they know the password for your child.)
  • Please do not let any other children out through the door when you leave.
  • The swipe card you are issued with as a parent by us must be used only by you.
  • Please shut the main door when you bring your child in or when collecting them.
  • Please be punctual when dropping off / collecting your child to avoid upset or disruption to your child's routine.
  • In emergencies please telephone the School / Nursery to ensure we are aware
